Arriving in Prague

By Plane

The air gate to the Czech Republic is Prague International Airport (PRG) and is located to the northwest of the city. It has daily connections to and from most major European cities – to and from other destinations you will have to transfer in Frankfurt, London, Amsterdam or Paris. Citizens of the US and Europe are entitled to stay in the Czech Republic for up to 90 days without a visa.

By Bus

Prague’s International Bus Station Florenc is situated in the centre of Prague, in walking distance (about 15 minutes) to Václavské námĕstí (Wenceslas Square). The major railway stations may be reached in about 5 minutes on foot.

By Car

There are motorways or main roads leading to Prague from every major border crossing. The journey from the border to Prague takes usually (traffic depending) approx. 2-3 hours. Traffic rules and regulations don’t differ much from those in European countries. However, there are a few things worth remembering:

  • Driving while either drunk or intoxicated is forbidden
  • Using a handheld mobile phone while driving is also banned
  • Drive on the right
  • Safety belts to be fastened all time
  • The headlights are to be on all the time
